Why and How to Write a Case Study for Your Business

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Do you use case studies to get more clients? Do you know how to write a case study?

Case studies should be a part of your marketing tool bag. They can increase your exposure, impress your clients with your expertise, and help you sell more products and services.

Why Should I Write a Case Study?
Case studies are extremely powerful. Other than a client testimonial, there are few marketing strategies that are more effective in turning prospects into clients. Case studies:
• Tell the story of how you solve problems for your clients
• Build your brand and credibility
• Demonstrate measurable results
• Show clients your commitment to their success
• Serve as client endorsements

Case Studies Are Persuasive Online and Offline
Case studies are perfect for both online and offline marketing. Use keyword-rich case studies online to reach your target audience and demonstrate your expertise. Print the case study and include it in your press kit or other “leave-behind” marketing materials when you meet with your clients.

How Do I Write a Case Study?
Write a case study in three steps:
1. The Challenge: In a paragraph or two describe the specific challenge your client was facing.
2. The Solution: In two to three paragraphs discuss how you delivered a specific solution that solved the client’s challenge.
3. The Results: Report the measurable results of your solution. This is the most important part of the case study. You’ll have to get some of this information from your client but, believe me, your client will be happy to provide you with these stats when they see the value you’ve delivered. For maximum effectiveness, include a quote from the client touting the success of your solution.

Make Your Case With Case Studies
Case study marketing is not as well known (or employed as much) as article marketing, press release marketing, email marketing, and blogs. But it’s even more effective. Although these other marketing efforts are more popular, case studies are an incredibly successful way to position yourself as an expert in your field.

Want to impress your prospects? Want to convince your clients to buy your products and services with confidence? Consider case studies to literally make your case.

Novo Helps Client Skyrocket to the #1 Position on Google

Friday, May 29, 2009

Novo recently wrote an SEO press release for Plaza Automotive Center announcing its honor of being named Business of the Year by the San Pedro Rotary Club. The SEO press release also strategically promoted many of the shop’s services.

Just a few days after being posted online, the SEO press release appeared in the #1 and #5 positions in a Google search for the targeted keyword phrase. The SEO press release continues to appear in several other top 10 positions in search results for many secondary keyword phrases.

We can’t promise a #1 ranking, of course, but we can guarantee that we’ll work hard to develop an online strategy that increases your exposure. Whether it’s press releases, article marketing¸ blogs, email marketing, or other proven methods of reaching your customers online, Novo writes compelling SEO copy that gets results. We help search engines find you and we make it easier for you to turn strangers into customers.

Novo Helps Client Drive More Traffic to Its Web Site With Internet Press Releases

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Novo recently completed a case study demonstrating the results of an Internet press release campaign with Hansten Healthcare, a healthcare firm dedicated to transforming organizations through relationship enhancement and skill development.

Our Internet press release campaign utilized search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and helped Hansten Healthcare rank highly in search engines results. This created an increase of “qualified” traffic to the company’s Web site. The secondary—-and most important—-effect was that Hansten Healthcare was able to close the deal on many of the prospects that visited the site as a direct result of dramatically improving the exposure of the firm and its innovative service offering.

Highlights of the Internet press release campaign include:
• Increased visitors to the Web site by 220%
• Ranked on the first page of Google for the targeted keyword phrases
• Doubled the number of new business leads the firm received compared to other marketing efforts during the same period
• Generated leads in new regions that resulted in new business
• Increased book sales

What Is Momentum Marketing Anyway?

Friday, April 3, 2009

In a previous blog post I mentioned that I’d be writing about momentum marketing—what it is, how to implement a strategy for your business, etc. I’m going to break up the topic into several bite-size blog posts, so check back often for updates.

To generate the maximum amount of awareness for your business and products/services, you need to capitalize on the marketing power of multiple exposure. Multiple exposure means creating multiple marketing pieces and then disseminating them to multiple mediums.

It’s not enough to JUST have a Web site or JUST a brochure or JUST a press release. You WILL sell more products and services if you cross-pollinate your marketing message across many complementary sources (both online and offline). To put it plainly, you need to be “all things to all people.” That is to say that your customers will find you in many different ways IF you give them the opportunity.

So, how does this all add up? Momentum marketing is the act of utilizing multiple methods of communicating your marketing message (be it through your Web site, direct mail campaign, brochure, press release, email marketing, etc.) to reach your customers wherever they may be.

You can make your business and products/services ubiquitous both online and offline.

We’ll talk about how it works next time. In the meantime, check out the Novo (soon to be revamped) Web site. Visit the Portfolio page to see examples of how we can market your business with powerful copywriting that gets results.

SEO Copywriting Article Jumps to #1 Position on Google

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

More SEO copywriting success to report: With the help of Internet marketing guru Gregg Towsley, a SEO copywriting article I wrote for one of his clients ranks in the #1 position on the first page of Google when you search for the specific key phrase.

Can you guess the exact keyword phrase for this article?

This follows in the footsteps of another recent SEO copywriting article I wrote for a different client that ranked on the first page of Google. It reached the 9th position on the first page of Google.

More to come!
